By connecting your Instagram, GRIN can automatically pull in your Instagram posts and engagement numbers to deliver to the brands you are collaborating with. GRIN uses first-party data to sync your content and metrics directly from Meta, ensuring the data your collaborating brands receive is secure, accurate, and collected with your permission.
What you'll need
- An Instagram Professional account—either Business or Creator—connected to a Facebook Business Page that is managed by a personal Facebook account. Connecting these creates a Business account in the Meta Business Suite which GRIN uses to authenticate your account. You can learn how to connect the two at GRIN Academy or reference Meta’s articles:
- If you have multiple Live Sites and want to share your social network connections so you only need to log in to each network once for all your Live Sites, you’ll also need the following:
- Verify each of your Live Sites. Learn how with our help article Verifying your account.
- The same email address set in your Live Site’s Settings. Learn how to update your email address with our help article Managing Settings.
- You’re participating in at least one program in each Live Site.
How to do it
- Navigate to your Live Site > Networks and select Connect next to Instagram.
- If you already connected your Instagram account on another Live Site, you’ll be prompted with different options to automatically connect the same account on your current Live Site. If you aren’t shown these options, skip this step and move on to Step 3.
- If you want to connect your account automatically and you only have one other Live Site to log in to, select Yes, auto connect. This will finish the connection process, and you can skip the rest of the steps in this article.
- If you want to connect your account automatically and you have two or more Live Sites you can log in to, toggle on which brands' Live Sites you want to connect to, then select Yes, auto connect. This will finish the connection process, and you can skip the rest of the steps in this article.
- If you want to connect your account manually, select No, proceed to manually connect and continue to Step 3.
- Enter your Instagram handle and select Continue. GRIN will check to make sure your account is either a Business or Creator account.
- Once you receive a success message, select Connect. This will open Meta’s login process in a new window.

- If you’re not logged in already, log in to your Facebook account. This should be the same account that owns the Facebook Page that you connected to your Instagram account.
- Select Continue as…

- Review the permissions you’re granting to GRIN and select Continue.

When reviewing these permissions, make sure you allow all the permissions shown. The easiest way is to keep every option selected for all the Pages and accounts that appear. GRIN needs all of these permissions to connect to your account and share your posts with brands. We do not ask for permissions to post on your behalf or view your sensitive account information. Learn more about each permission with our article Connecting social networks FAQ.
- You have now completed the connection process! If you have other Live Sites, you’ll be prompted with options to automatically connect your Instagram to those Live Sites as well. If you aren't prompted with these options, then you can skip this step.
- If you want to connect your account automatically and you only have one other Live Site to log in to, select Yes, auto connect.
- If you want to connect your account automatically and you have two or more Live Sites you can log in to, toggle on which brands' Live Sites you want to connect to, then select Yes, auto connect.
- If you don’t want to connect your account to other Live Sites, select No, I’ll do this later.
Your Instagram account is now connected to GRIN, and your collaborating brand will automatically receive your Instagram posts and metrics. If you need more help connecting to Instagram, check out our GRIN Academy lessons.
