Article summary

When you’re setting up your creator marketing program, it’s important to learn how creators will interact with you while using GRIN. With a better understanding, you are more equipped to guide your creators to be successful, efficient, and have an overall positive experience.

The best starting place to assist your creators is to have an awareness of how they will be using GRIN. And the best way to have awareness is to go through the creator process step by step. Once you've gained a working understanding of the creator experience, you'll be able to guide and troubleshoot with your creators because you've done it before.

Learning the Creator Experience

Before continuing onto the next steps, it is important to set up an Activation or Partnership. Be sure to establish the tasks you want your creators to complete while working with your Brand.

  1. Create a test contact or use GRIN’s Web Extension to import yourself as a contact.
  2. Add your new contact to an Activation or Partnership
  3. Send yourself an outreach email or use a template. Be sure to include your Live Site
  4. Click your Live Site link from your outreach email.
  5. Complete the proposal for your Activation or Partnership.
  6. Return to your Activation or Partnership in GRIN and accept your proposal.
  7. Return to your Live Site
  8. Verify your account.

Now that your proposal has been accepted and your account has been verified, you can now see the following from your Live Site

  • Dashboard with Activation and Partnership information
  • Your Links
  • Insights, if enabled
  • Networks
  • Payouts
  • Settings

These are all pages where creators can manage and review information about the creator marketing programs they are a part of, connect their social accounts, update their contact information, and manage how they receive their payouts and their KYC information.

Common Questions

What information should I provide my creator within their Live Site

Any information you want to provide your creators can be set in custom fields when creating an Activation or Partnership. These fields let you describe what you require from the creator to what the theme of your Activation or Partnership is. For example, you can set how much content creators must post, how often, and on what social network to post on when creating a marketing program, and this information will be conveyed to your creator on their Live Site.

How does GRIN pull in creator content?

Once creators connect their appropriate social network profile with their Live Site, GRIN syncs their content and metrics directly with their posts based off of the tracked #hashtags and @mentions you provide. You can add these tracking tags in an Activation or Partnership to pull in content for those programs as well as in Social Listening to track content from creators who aren't part of your contacts yet.

Why do creators need to connect their social accounts?

Your creators need to connect their social accounts so you can track any content they create for your collaborations, including #hashtags or @mentions. You won’t be able to view creator content and accurate statistics in GRIN about your creators’ posts (such as comments, views, and likes) if they do not connect, so we encourage you to reach out to your creators to connect their accounts via the Live Site. Otherwise, creators need to manually upload their content to the Live Site each time they want to deliver it to you.

How do my creators review their conversions and payouts?

Once a creator submits their proposal and verifies their account, they’ll be able to view the full Live Site Dashboard, which includes the Payouts tab. The Payouts tab displays a list of all the payments that have been sent to your creator as well as commissions earned based on sales made from either their discount code or affiliate link.
