Social Listening enables you to discover new creators who are already engaging with your brand and find user-generated content by tracking Instagram mentions and hashtags. Once configured, GRIN pulls in posts that match your criteria, giving you a social listening feed to browse content and recruit potential creators directly from their profiles.

Social Listening is an excellent tool to expand your roster with creators who are genuinely interested in your brand and find user-generated content to repurpose.

Accessing and setting up social listening

To access Social Listening navigate to Content > Social Listening.

Upon accessing, you’ll see a setup screen to:

  1. Connect your brand's Instagram handle to track @ mentions and tags automatically. Note: Social listening automatically tracks posts with the same tag as your tracked mentions (i.e. If @grin is tracked as a mention, then posts where "grin" is tagged will also be tracked). 
  2. Optionally add hashtags for further content tracking.

Once this setup is complete, you'll land on the Social Listening feed.

Browsing and Managing Content

Searching for content

There are two ways to find content in your social listening

  • Searchbar
  • Filters

Searchbar

You can find posts by typing phrases/text into the searchbar. GRIN will search through the post captions and return posts with the text/phrases you inputted. 

GRIN's search is an exact search, where it will only return posts with the exact phrases/text you inputted. 

Filters

The following filters are available to filter through the content in your social listening feed: 

  • Follower count
  • Content post date
  • Instagram verification status

Viewing Content

In the feed, you’ll see posts mentioning your brand or using the tracked hashtags. Each post displays the following details when clicked:

  • The option to add the creator as a "creator" or "prospect" to your Contacts.
  • The post's caption
  • The post's engagement: Views (for video posts), likes, comments, engagement rate. 
  • Tracked mentions and hashtags used to pull the post into social listening. 
Note
GRIN OS Lite customers do not have the option to add a creator as a "creator" or "prospect", and can only add a creator as an "affiliate" to the affiliate hub.

You can also open the post directly on Instagram by clicking this icon:

Editing Settings

You can update your tracked mentions and hashtags by clicking the Settings button on the social listening feed page. 


This gives the option to:

  • Edit existing mentions or hashtags
  • Add or remove tracked mentions or hashtags
