Why an Activation Isn't Showing on a Creator's Live Site
You activated a creator, they opened their Live Site, and the Activation is not there. In almost every case the Activation itself is still unpublished. Publishing is a separate switch from activating a creator, and a new Activation starts out unpublished.
What you'll need
- Access to the Activation's settings
- The creator's own Live Site URL, which is unique to that creator
Cause 1: the Activation is unpublished
Every Activation has a Publish to Live URL switch in its settings, and it reads either Published or Unpublished. While it reads Unpublished, the Activation does not appear on any creator's Live Site, no matter how far along that creator is. Newly created Activations are unpublished by default, which is also noted in the setup steps for creating an Activation.
How to publish it
- Open Program > Activations and select the Activation's name.
- Go to the Activation's settings.
- Find Publish to Live URL.
- Select the switch so it reads Published.
From that point the Activation shows on the Live Site of every creator who is activated in it.
Cause 2: the creator was added but never activated
Adding a creator to an Activation is internal to your account. It does not notify them, and it does not put the Activation on their Live Site. That only happens once you activate them, which is covered in activating creators in your Activation. The same distinction between being in your Activation and being visible to the creator is spelled out in the guidance on removing creators from an Activation versus from your contacts.
Check you are opening the right link
Live Site URLs are unique per creator, so a link belonging to someone else will never show this creator's Activations. Copy the correct one by finding that creator's Live Site URL.
