Why Is There a Number in Parentheses Next to the Contract Amount?
Overview
In your Activation's creator tables, the Contract Amount column can show a money figure followed by a number in parentheses, for example $500.00 (1).
That number is not part of the amount, and it is not cents, a quantity of products, or a creator count. It is a count of the contract payables that add up to the total shown. So (1) means the whole amount comes from a single payable, and a creator with two contract payables reads (2).
The same pattern appears in the Commission Amount column, where the number counts the conversion payables behind that total.
Seeing What Makes Up the Total
The number in parentheses is also a link, so you never have to guess what the figure is made of.
Open your Activation and go to a creator table, such as the one described in managing all creators in your Activation.
Find the creator's row and the Contract Amount column. If you do not see the column, add it with the Columns button.
Select the number in parentheses.
A Contracts panel opens listing the individual payables behind the total, one row each.
Each row in that panel shows Due Date, Type, Amount and Status, so you can see exactly which payables the figure is made of and where each one stands. Payable statuses are Due, Not Due and Paid.
Selecting the number in the Commission Amount column works the same way and opens a Conversions panel instead, listing the conversion payables behind that total.
Why a Creator Can Show More Than One Payable
A creator's contract total is the sum of their contract payables, and how many payables they have depends on how the Activation pays them. An Activation that pays a single fixed fee produces one payable, while an Activation that pays per task or splits payment across milestones can produce several. For how those amounts are set up in the first place, see paying creators in an Activation, and for working with payables across your account, see managing payables.
Summary
A number in parentheses next to a money column is a count, not money. Select it to open the panel that lists the payables behind the total, each with its own status.
