GRIN sends emails from a connected email account (your email grant). Which account is used depends on whether the email is sent manually or automatically. This article explains how the sending account is chosen so your emails go out from the address you expect.

When you compose and send an email yourself, from the Inbox or a creator profile, it is sent from your own connected email account, meaning the mailbox connected under the user who is logged in and sending.

Automated emails include activation automations such as post-proposal and post-fulfillment messages, as well as creator alerts. These are sent from the email account connected by the contact's owner, which is the GRIN user assigned to that creator or contact.

Two things to know about automated emails:

Many teams prefer automated emails to come from a shared address, such as [email protected]. Because automated emails use the contact owner's connected mailbox, the way to achieve this is to make sure the contact owner has the shared mailbox connected under their own login. When each user who owns contacts connects the shared mailbox, automated emails for those contacts will send from the shared address.

1. Find the owner of the creator or contact (the assigned GRIN user on the contact).

2. Make sure that user has the desired sending mailbox connected in their email settings. See Managing Your Email Settings.

3. If you use a shared mailbox, connect that shared mailbox under the login of each user who owns contacts.
