After importing a list of creators, a common next step is adding that whole batch to an Activation at once. The most important thing to know first: the import name is not a filter. Searching for your import name in + Add Creators will not return the batch. Here is how to add them correctly, plus a tip that makes it effortless next time.

When you import (Contacts > Creators > Add Creators > Import Creators), set an Initial Tag in Step 1, Import Details. That tag is applied to every creator in the import and gives you a one-click way to pull the whole batch into an Activation later. Note that you can only set one tag per import.

Go to Program > Activations > Your Activation and click + Add Creators, then filter:

Heads-up on the Contact Created Date option: Contact Created Date reflects when each contact was first created in GRIN. It cleanly captures the net-new creators from your import, but any contacts that already existed and were only updated on an email match keep their original created date and will not appear under the import date. It may also include unrelated creators created on that same day. If your import was all new creators, this grabs them cleanly.

Tip: once you have the batch selected, apply a tag to them right then so the group is easy to reuse later.

If you did not tag the batch and Contact Created Date is not precise enough, you can re-run the same import file, this time selecting an Initial Tag, and check Update Existing Contacts. GRIN matches on email and updates your existing records in place (no duplicates) while applying the tag across the whole batch. You can then filter by that tag in + Add Creators.

The import name is only a label for the import record itself (what you see on the Imports page). It is not written to the contacts as a tag or any filterable attribute, which is why filtering creators by the import name returns nothing. Use the import's tag or the Contact Created Date instead.
